Maureen was born, educated and trained as a nurse and midwife in England, moving to Canada in 1965 to work for the Grenfell Association in Northern Newfoundland and Labrador. There, she met her husband Bob. The Bennetts lived in Quebec and Alberta before eventually settled in Victoria with their two sons, Scott & Chris, in 1979. Now Maureen and Bob are lucky enough to have four grandchilden all living close by.
Since giving up working as a hospice nurse in Victoria, Maureen has become a community volunteer and has served on several Boards. Presently she is on the Canadian International Council where she has been the secretary for the last eight years. Her interests are gardening, reading and travelling.
Maureen has been a member of Christ Church Cathedral for sixteen years. Baptised, confirmed and married in the Church of England, she is deeply committed to the Anglican form of worship and hopes that she can serve the CCC community with humility, honesty and humour.
