Choral Programs at the Cathedral
Christ Church Cathedral is home to five choirs.
The Cathedral Choir is an auditioned choir that sings at the regular 11 am Sunday morning service and special services and concerts throughout the year. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm. The repertoire is diverse and challenging. The Cathedral also offers a Junior Choristers program designed by the Royal School of Church Music for a limited number of gifted boys and girls aged 9-14.
The Parish Choiris a non-auditioned choir for parishioners who would like to sing at the 9:15 am Contemporary Holy Eucharist. We are a fun, friendly group of people who love to sing and socialize! Practices are Wednesdays from 5:15 – 6:00 pm.
St. Christopher Singers maintain the glorious tradition of weekly Choral Evensong here at the Cathedral each Sunday afternoon at 4:30. They also sing several special services and concerts each year. Regular rehearsals take place at 3 pm on Sunday, before the service. Superior sight-reading skills are required; the choir offers an invaluable opportunity for talented choral musicians.
The Cathedral Children’s Choir is a special opportunity for kids Grade 4+ to sing together at special services and seasonal celebrations. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 4-5 pm.
CapriCCio is a resident vocal ensemble, founded and led by the Cathedral’s Director of Music, Canon Michael Gormley. They present an annual concert series of masterpieces from the choral repertoire.
