As part of the Cathedral's commitment to reconciliation with our First Nations neighbours, the Reconciliation Ministry Team would like to invite you to participate in the renowned “Kairos Blanket Exercise” on Saturday, April 18th, from 10 am to 1 pm in the Chapel of the New Jerusalem.
This informative and interactive workshop led by Indigenous coordinators will demonstrate the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the land we now know as Canada. Using blankets to symbolize the land, participants will learn as they ‘walk’ through situations that include pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance. Most people finish the exercise knowing and understanding much more about our relationship with our First Nations neighbours. The workshop is by donation. Please register with the office by e-mail.
