Communications Changes

It is with great sadness that the Cathedral has accepted the resignation of our indomitable communications officer, Susan Down, who will be leaving us this week to take up a new position as managing director of the Cowichan Valley Arts Council. Anyone who has worked with Susan over the past two years will know that her passion for the arts has been a boon for the cathedral. Her connections in the arts community have helped our Visual Arts group mount several exhibits.

As a journalist, Susan has a nose for a good story, and has greatly increased our profile in the community: who else could have scored two television spots and two print stories on the tuning of the organ! During Susan’s time with us, the quality of our print and web resources have come into their own and she has been a driving force in connecting us with Tourism Victoria. 

And with great pleasure, we announce that the interim communications baton goes to Mark McDonald. Mark is familiar to many for his dramatic organ performances as our assistant director of music. He already handles publicity and communications on the music side and now he will use his formidable design and social media skills to promote other events and projects at the cathedral.
