What are the three universal languages that communicate without words? That was the question posed by Senator Pat Bovey to young Christ Church Cathedral School students during her talk on the arts on January 13. The answer: visual art, music and movement (dance). After her talk, in the Chapel of the New Jerusalem, the students were inspired to create their own images.
Senator Bovey was the longtime director of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, and later the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Appointed to the senate in 2016, she speaks frequently on arts issues, and she is presently completing a book on art in Western Canada.
