Fall Fundraising at the Cathedral is in full swing!

This month, the Cathedral and the Cathedral School have been hard at work organizing several exciting fundraisers. Read on to learn about what’s coming up this October!

MEMORIAL HALL CENTENNIAL GALA (October 21, 5.30 p.m.)

For 100 years, Memorial Hall has faithfully served the people of Christ Church and the wider community – Now, it’s time to celebrate its proud past, and bright future!

Join us for a gala dinner, with entertainment and auction, in the gymnasium of the Cathedral School on Saturday, October 21, from 5.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.  There will be VIP speakers (including the Lieutenant Governor and the Bishop), attractive auction items to bid on, musical performances by the Cathedral choristers and School music teachers and students, and much more.  Plus an elegant meal, complimentary beverages, and lots of opportunity to meet and mingle with friends old and new.

As well, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing your attendance supports two worthwhile causes: the Cathedral’s ministries, and the School’s new bursary fund, named in honour of departing Head of School, Stuart Hall.

Seats for the Memorial Hall Centennial Gala are $200 each, of which $100 is eligible for a charitable receipt for tax purposes.  Tables of eight are available for a discounted price of $1400, and come with a $700 tax receipt.  Tax receipts will be issued by Christ Church Cathedral and mailed in February 2024.

ONLINE SILENT AUCTION (Now until October 21)

A foursome round at Royal Colwood Golf Club... a pair of tickets to the Symphony or the Opera... high tea for two at Abkhazi Garden… These are just a few examples of more than fifty fabulous items, with a total retail value of over $10,000, available to be bid on through an online silent auction.

The auction site has been live since Wednesday, October 11.  Bidding will close at 9:00 pm precisely on Saturday, October 21.

All proceeds from the online silent auction will be used to support the Cathedral’s operating budget; so you can have the double satisfaction of purchasing something attractive for yourself or as a gift, and helping out the Cathedral’s finances at the same time.

50-50 DRAW (Now until October 26)

The Cathedral’s 50/50 raffle is now live and the funds collected will help to support the Cathedral and its various ministries.

Tickets are available online:  single tickets for $10, 3-ticket packs for $20, 10-ticket packs for $50 and 50-ticket packs for $100.

Half the proceeds will go to our Cathedral, and half to the lucky winner. The draw will take place Friday, October 27.  You will be able to purchase or top up your tickets until midnight, October 26.

We will be selling a maximum of 6,000 tickets, and the number of packages in various quantities is limited as shown on the website, so be sure to get yours as soon as possible.  You have a chance of winning up to $10,000!
