Music Endowment Fund matching campaign exceeds expectations!
We’re delighted to report that the Music Endowment Fund matching campaign has significantly exceeded its target. As of December 31, over $45,000 was contributed by individual donors, considerably surpassing the $40,000 previously pledged by our generous matching sponsors. Additional funds have also been found to increase the matching amount, bringing the grand total raised by the campaign to $90,000.
As a result, the new Christ Church Cathedral Music Endowment Fund, lodged at the Victoria Foundation, which was opened just this past September with an initial modest transfer of $10,000, will now rise, within only a few months, to a very healthy new balance of $100,000. This permanently protected investment will help ensure the long-term sustainability of the Cathedral’s music ministry, while providing a solid base on which to grow in the future.
At the same time, the Cathedral’s own thriving Music Fund will benefit from the income generated by this capital, as it continues to support aspiring young musicians with choral and organ scholarships, nurture the junior choristers from the Cathedral School, and make possible a wide range of other musical offerings (in both liturgical and concert settings) for the parish, the diocese and the whole community to enjoy.
We want to thank each and every one of our donors for their generosity, and for demonstrating so tangibly their belief in the ongoing value of the Cathedral’s musical life.
