On Saturday January 19, a Cathedral group took cards, cakes and a variety of other delectables (about 30 in total) to the Ambulance Centre on Douglas Street as part of the Cakes for Caring diocesan initiative.
Together with these generous offerings, there were cards and written messages of thanks and appreciation for the paramedics. The response was delight that our church had chosen to recognize them for the difficult and challenging work they do. Although there were only three paramedics to greet us as the other 27 members of their shift were engaged in paramedic duties, they sent their thanks and informed us that the baked gifts would be consumed within 24 hours!
Malcolm Read, Animator of Community Life, would like to thank all involved for their wonderful response to this project.
